Commemorative tablet of the victorious return of troops from the war of 1920 (Saxon Garden -Ogród Saski)
In this place, on May 22nd 1921 the Marshal Jozef Pilsudski, together with General Kazimierz Sosnkowski and the President of the City of Warsaw, Stefan Starzyński, greeted the soldiers of the three Warsaw regiments of the Polish Army, returning to the capital from the victorious war against the Bolsheviks.
The tablet was unveiled on November 12th 1938, by General Kazimierz Sosnkowski with the participation of the President Starzyński. It was originally located in the main avenue, which complies with the main axis of the Saxon Garden. The board disappeared after World War II. After regaining independence, it was faithfully restored. On the Independence Day November 11th 1995, it was again unveiled by the President of Poland Lech Wałęsa and Jadwiga Jaraczewska – Piłsudska, the daughter of the Marshal Piłsudski. In 2011 it was restored and placed on the new pedestal.
